  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I found it to be very valuable and am glad I went

    • While we had the opportunity to meet various senior staff, they were more interested in the free food at the networking event than conversing with us

    • Questions were encouraged and any and all questions were answered

    • I wouldn't say that anything I learnt helped me in my studies as it was only for 4 days and I had already studied any teaching. However, I am definitely clearer on my future career path and the options which are available through Nomura

    • Every day was well planned out and everything ran smoothly.

    • The atmosphere was a mixed bag. The people were mostly friendly and I liked the young atmosphere.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • They had a day of training, but it was not useful for anyone with even the slightest background in finance. On the other hand, people from other backgrounds probably found it useful.

    • I would say I have a fair idea, but I would need to spend more time there to really know

    • There was a lot of emphasis on the fact that it wasnt an American bank

    • Fantastic. I got a great insight into the careers of everyone I met

    • I was reimbursed travel expenses up to £100. They do not reimburse hotels.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Yes, every day there was a networking opportunity and free food!

    • A lot of people were drawn there just for the free food and were just interested in talking at you instead of to you

    • Yes, Nomura seems to be a very social place to work
