  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my colleagues whilst working. I was given responsibilities that had a real impact on the business and that would be in direct contact with potential and existing customers. As a result, I felt very valued.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given support right from the offset during my placement. After receiving a 2 week handover I settled in well. If I had any queries throughout the year, all those in the office were keen to help.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I felt that I had a good amount of work to do on a daily basis. I had tasks that needed to be completed on a daily basis and larger tasks that took a long period of time to complete.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement. I was able to make decisions that had a real effect on the business, this is exciting due to the size of the organisation.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Firstly, the skills that I have developed will motivate me during my final year at University because I will want to put the things that I have learnt into practice. Also, the skills that I have learnt will help me beyond university as I have been able to develop a greater understanding of the working environment.

    The Company

  • The social scene was limited during my placement. I was able to meet up with some fellow students outside of the office however this wasn't very often.

    2/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The surrounding area wasn't too expensive when compared to central London. This meant that the salary that we were paid was enough to enjoy our year without being worried about the cost of things. There are some bars and pubs approximately a mile away from the office.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife was very poor in the area that we worked. The only option for nightlife was a train journey away, however this was still poor.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were very few activities outside of work. The year in industry students had a 5-a-side football team however this only lasted for one season as the numbers were very minimal.
