The Role
The internship was very interesting. I was able to learn a lot and go into a position I did not know a lot about before. It also allowed me to learn more about the banking industry and network with key people within the business. From both within my function and location as well as from outside. Everyone seemed to be willing to talk to me.
Everyone was willing to help me and give up a little of their time to help me. Aside from that, there were many talks and conversations organized by the human resources team that allowed me to have exposure to senior people within the business and from different business areas
My direct supervisor went on holidays for two weeks during my internship, but he always made sure there was someone to help me and aligned everything with me before leaving the company for two weeks. Overall I fell like management and my extended team support me very well with everything they could
I was not very busy, but that is also in part because my team was great, I was working with 3 other developers and they were able to self-organize and deliver very efficiently, which makes my job as a scrum master very easy. Overall I had free time that I could use to network
I managed a team of 3 developers and we were working on a good project that will be used by the business. I had a lot of responsibility when compared to other interns, although we all shared this responsibility as a team. Overall I had a lot of responsibility during my placement.
I learned a lot about SCRUM and how to manage a team, being able to ``manage`` a team of 3 developers before university is not something very common to happen, but the developers made it very easy to manage them and that allowed me to learn a lot as well as to deliver my task.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was great, everyone was smiling and the weather outside was great. People had no pressure to stay in the office for ``face time`` and all of them welcomed me when I asked for help or was just curious about their job and day to day activities.
The internship was incredibly organized, which might have been actually an issue for me. As a scrum master, we expect that requirements would change and we would have to adapt. But because everything was organized and set up before we arrived, that is an aspect of SCRUM that I did not manage to practice as much.
They invested a lot through time of senior and juniors employees to train us
very much
