The Role
To begin I did not enjoy my placement due to the poor handover and not knowing anything or what to do. However, gradually I did start to understand the role and with got handed more work especially coming to the end of my placement which I have enjoyed however, some of the work was tedious and boring.
I supported a lot of departments and supervisors helping with there work and projects and did feel valued but other then that no I did not.
I got support whenever I asked which was very good. However, one project I was not given the support which really affected the work and with it not being successful due to the lack of support.
The last 3 months have been the busiest for me during my year placement. Whereas the rest of the time I was scrapping for work.
In my position I was given much less responsibilty then the rest of the students but that is due to my role.
I am more focused and my social skills have improved with all the presentations and emails I have been duing. However, I have little/not improved my skills to do with my degree which is engineering.
The Company
I worked in a small office and got to know everybody and everyone was nice and friendly and have had a good laugh with everybody.
Was quite well organised however coming to the end we were given late notice to complete our final review as students have booked holidays.
I was given no extra training or courses only took part in workshops when managers and other employees from different departments were taking part. However there are online training but there are over 200 courses and wasnt sure which one to start with.
Company Parties/Events
I have noticed a lot of people can move up very quickly in this company however I do believe this company was a way of doing things that arent terrible but i do not agree with which puts me off
The Culture
Very good we all have eachother on social media and stay in contact outside of work. We also have organised event soutside of work.
I did not live near my place of work I travelled 20 miles to work.
Dont know i dont live where i work but people that do go to Walkabout and thats there
Only what we organised as a group and not through work itself
