About You
Really enjoyable. A friendly environment to work in and I like a lot, especially from the different talks and tasks I was involved in.
I felt largely valued. I was given a lot of responsibility, bundling documents and writing research reports which were sent directly to the client.
There was a significant amount of support from buddies/supervisors, but it might have been better to be sat in the same room as them.
I learnt more about the role of a trainee and developed my research/writing skills. I am not sure that it helped with my degree studies however.
The Company
The insight was well structured with talks and events. However, there could have been some more socials in the evening.
The general atmosphere was friendly, laidback but also hardworking. Due to the fact that everyone is so nice, there definitely is a desire to impress and perform well.
The firm helped me a lot and even gave me advice on improving my commercial awareness.
Yes, I got to sit next to associates and partners, learning more about their daily roles and activities.
I think we had ample opportunities to learn about the genuine culture of the company through talks and informal social events with trainees.
This experience helped to solidify my desire to work in a commercial law firm, especially a mid-size one where you are able to get real exposure and a better work-life balance.
Everything Else
We were paid a decent salary, however, commuting and lunches in London are never cheap.
Yes, there were lots of opportunities to chat to trainees but not so much associates on an informal level.
There weren't too many social events but the ones held were good fun.
I thought they could have spoken more about the sports teams and social events held at the firm.
Absolutely, I think the firm is great and caters to hard-working people who are also friendly and supportive.
