The Role
I really enjoyed my placement year at Newcastle Building society and gained a lot of experience to take back to university.
I feel that my opinion is valued by all member of my team on all topics.
During my placement at Newcastle Building Society I have been giving a huge amount of support from line management, my team and my Early Talent manager.
This varied during my time at Newcastle Building Society. Some days I would very busy, with meetings and project work and other days there would be very little for me to do.
During my placement year I was given a lot of reasonability leading business wide initiatives and designing and delivering training.
This experience has enabled me to gain more confidence in a working environment, I have gain a huge amount of skill including communication skills, team work and project management. I have been giving the opportunity to put theory into practice. I feel that after my placement year I am in a better position to complete my final year.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office was very friendly and make me feel very welcome from the offset.
The Early Talent programme was very organised throughout the year, not only was my day to day work organised there was a Early Talent project for all apprenticeship, placement students and graduates, which was organised really well.
Whilst at Newcastle Building Society I have been giving the opportunity to attend a wide range of training that we offer in house, I have also been given the opportunity to work with the princes trust facilitating enrichment sessions. Also while here I have completed a level two certificate in equality and Diversity provided by Newcastle Building Society.

Future opportunities within Newcastle Building society are very appealing to me and would love to be giving the opportunity to return.
The Culture
living cost are very good in Newcastle in compared too other cities in the UK. Also there is an amazing social side to Newcastle with lots to do such as nightlife, Sightseeing, Football etc.
Perfect! lots of bars and clubs something to suit everyone!
I have been giving a number of opportunities outside of my day to day work such as attending networking events. At Newcastle Building Society you are encourage to take two days per year to volunteer within the community, which is an amazing opportunity.
