The Role
The culture is lovely and the care and support they have for their employees is amazing. They have set a new standard for me and have shown that when a business invests in their employees then their happiness will transcend through their work.
I felt very valued by my colleagues and the team I work within. I felt like a part of the team from the moment I started. They really make you feel like you are an important element to the business and I am grateful for that.
My manager would always make sure we would catch up regularly to go over any concerns and questions I may have. My manager would always help whenever I was stuck and made me feel comfortable enough to open up about any worries I had.
I found that every week would be different. Sometimes I found that I had a lot on my plate and other times I would find I had more free time. Although to balance this my manager always made sure to check in with me and help me find more work or lighten my work load if need be.
Once I became comfortable I found that I was given a lot of independence and responsibility to run and manage projects that had high value within the business. This made me feel like a part of the wider organisation and that I'm not just here for a placement, but I'm gaining a meaningful experience in the corporate world.
My placement has been highly relevant to not only my degree modules but to what I want to do in the future. It has solidified in my mind the future career path I wish to pursue and has helped me build a lot of skills that I can use in the workplace and in my personal life, such as confidence.
The Company
The office was huge and so this would mean that some days it was quite empty and therefore it would be quite dull. Although I would say it was balanced as some days there were a lot of people in so the conversations would never stop!
I feel it was very organised. There were many tours offered and help was always available should we have any questions. Coming into my role was a piece of cake and the handover I was given from the previous placement student covered everything I would need to know.
This is one of the biggest highlights of my placement as Pfizer has many opportunities to participate in training. They covered aspects of marketing, personal development, digital, finance and many more. It was great to be able to participate and learn more that what your day-to-day role offers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement with Pfizer and the culture they have is one that I will make sure my future employer has. However, the industry is not the right fit for me so unfortunately any future career prospects were not that appealing to me. If I were to stay in pharmaceuticals however, I 100% would apply for Pfizer!
The Culture
Personally I did not interact much with the other placement students so I cannot speak for the social scene in that sense. With colleagues in my team however, I found I had great times during social events and would feel like they were my friends more than colleagues at times.
I lived at home in London not in the area I worked in so I am not able to give a well informed response.
I lived at home in London so I never went on nights out in the area I worked in as it would be too far of a commute for my journey home.
Pfizer is great in that I managed to get involved in some volunteering while I was there with my team. It was nice to get out of the office and bond with my team while doing something good for the community. They also offer 5 volunteering days should you wish to take them. There were also many social events that my team and I attended which were very enjoyable.
