    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • This was such an enjoyable year for many different reasons. I was given such a high level of responsibility and independence, as well as having a large group of undergrads on placement to network with.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At VWFS undergrads are very much treated as full time employees and therefore work was always valued by colleagues.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I genuinely could not have asked for any more from my line manager, they pushed me from strength to strength.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This depended on the time in the month as a lot of my work was reliant on monthly data and therefore towards the end of the month I was quiet.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a high level of responsibility and through showing interest in my department I was given tasks that sit outside of my job description.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the skills I have learnt will really help me long term as this placement has enabled me to work on organisation skills, presentation skills, excel skills and critical thinking.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was a professional environment and therefore was a serious place to be, however everyone was very friendly and would always stop for a chat whilst making a coffee. Otherwise the office was very quiet.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • VWFS are very experienced in placements and therefore the set up was great. They were really keen to invest in us from the start.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • VWFS set up a host of compulsory lifeskill sessions, these consisted of topics such as presentation skills, excel skills, networking, personal development plans, drivers awareness. These really helped over the year to make me perform at the highest possible standard.
