The Role
This was such an enjoyable year for many different reasons. I was given such a high level of responsibility and independence, as well as having a large group of undergrads on placement to network with.
At VWFS undergrads are very much treated as full time employees and therefore work was always valued by colleagues.
I genuinely could not have asked for any more from my line manager, they pushed me from strength to strength.
This depended on the time in the month as a lot of my work was reliant on monthly data and therefore towards the end of the month I was quiet.
I was given a high level of responsibility and through showing interest in my department I was given tasks that sit outside of my job description.
I think the skills I have learnt will really help me long term as this placement has enabled me to work on organisation skills, presentation skills, excel skills and critical thinking.
The Company
The office was a professional environment and therefore was a serious place to be, however everyone was very friendly and would always stop for a chat whilst making a coffee. Otherwise the office was very quiet.
VWFS are very experienced in placements and therefore the set up was great. They were really keen to invest in us from the start.
VWFS set up a host of compulsory lifeskill sessions, these consisted of topics such as presentation skills, excel skills, networking, personal development plans, drivers awareness. These really helped over the year to make me perform at the highest possible standard.

I would love to return to VWFS in the future and will definitely be applying for their graduate programme.
The Culture
Yes the undergraduates and graduates would meet up outside of work to socialise.
I commuted so this didn't effect me massively however the cost in the area of socialising wasn't too expensive.
MK has some great restaurants and bars in the area - something to suit everyone.
Yes there was always an event upcoming which you could get involved with - charity events were always on the go also.
