The Role
My Placement year was a very mixed year. I had a very slow start to the year due to my placement manager being changed and then once my manager had been established he did not act or offer any help or useful guidance. He was not interested in staying at the company therefore was not really the best manager for me to learn from The second half of the year was a polar opposite as my manger left a mr I received a new one that had a better work ethic and made it get mission to ensure I got a lot out of the last 6 months of my placement
I again by the end of the year felt like a very valuable member of the team that was relied on daily to get tasks done not only for my team but for senior members of the company. I built my responsibility up through the year and by the end they were very reluctant to let me leave to go back to University.
By the end of the year I was being offered a lot of guidance and help that was crucial to me getting the most from my placement. At the start of the year it was the opposite as I felt like I had no valuable support from my manager and felt like I was just thrown in the deep end with no guidance at all.
I was worked very hard throughout the year at all times. This was due to the chat isn’t being understaffed. Despite being very busy I really enjoyed this as it allowed me to show my work ethic and my ability to work hard and get tasks done. My fellow placement peers at Jaguar Land Rover report the opposite as insist they were bored all year as they had no work; although this may be due to the team they were placed within
At the beginning of the year I was given no responsibility at all and was not trusted to do anything. By the end of the year I had a lot of trust placed on my shoulders as to say. This was great as my team trusted me but also the wider teams and more and more senior members trusted me to do work for them in a error free and professional manner
I feel I can take the communication skills learnt throughout the year back to Uni with me which will enable me to communicate even better with my fellow students and also my lecturers I can take my work ethic for f working as hard and effectively as possible back to Uni with me as then I will achieve better grades and produce better work
The Company
The general atmosphere of the office was very professional and hard working; everyone is expected to get there tasks done and to achieve there targets. Theresa s a friendly atmosphere tone her everyone could speak easily and happily between each other. You could have jokes and chat about personal life with other colleagues which shows the atmosphere to be friendly and team focused
My Uni set up the placement well and all the relevant poet work was sorted on time. Jaguar Land Rover we’re slightly less prepared and ready. The induction days were well organised but the actual start of the working placement was a mess as no one knew what I was meant to be doing within my team and no one knew what work to give me to do.
The company invested in me doing a PowerPoint course which helped massively with production by as well as presenting professional and effective PowerPoint presentations. We had a team building days where we went to Eastnor castle. This day helped to build the tram stronger and allowed everyone to talk to new people who they may have not done before with.

I would work for the company again for sure as I had a great time in general working for the company. I would have accepted a contract to go back as a graduate however due to the fun avail difficulties the company was having during my placement year they could not offer contracts

Thee was very little chance to get involved in events outside of work due to very little being planned for undergraduates in terms of events. There was a pub night once a month however this was the only sort of club out in by Jaguar Land Rover. The attendance to this was very mixed too.
