    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my placement, so much that I have accepted an extension to carry on working with my team during my last year at university. My team have been very welcoming and always helped when I have needed it.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt that they have really appreciated the job I have done, as I have received 'appreciate' awards throughout the year.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Throughout the year anything that I needed help with they have taken time out of their diaries in order to make sure I am taught what I need to know. Also there are extensive learning materials provided where you can pretty much self teach yourself everything you would need to know.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I most definitely went through stages of busy periods and quiet periods, but overall I have been very happy with my workload. As with any job there would be some tight deadlines where you would be working manically, but I believe that just comes with working in a corporate environment.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I would say a fair bit of responsibility. I was given the task of leading a project which involved redoing and re-designing the regional communications from global stakeholders to local ones. There would definitely be space for more responsibility to be given.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am studying Marketing at university so you would think I would learn a lot of skills. I learnt a fair amount of skills that would help me with my last year and a marketing role after completing my degree. However half way through the year my team was re organised and there was no marketing execution from my team, and therefore my job was changed to a more reporting and analytical role rather than pure marketing.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I really enjoyed the atmosphere within the office. For such a busy working environment the office space was really chilled and a fun place to work.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I feel like rather than an internship, it was going straight into a job role. The onboarding was really good and the program was actually very good, but it felt that you really have to go out of your way to make the most of it.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was taught very well by my peers and given the freedom to learn what I wanted. Anything that I wanted to learn my team would take time out to teach me, or point in the right place.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I am returning to work part time in my final year and I could see myself working here in my future, but maybe in a different role.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a cohort of 50 interns this year and there were many socials, also eating with your fellow interns each day. There is a games room in the office where you can go to socialise.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Just outside London so the housing was more expensive compared to what I am used to, but it is what you expect with London.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • A 30 minute train into central London, which you really can't fault.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • If you looked for them, there definitely was. There are lots of different sports clubs and social clubs you can attend.

    5/5
