The Role
I really enjoyed my time at BAT, the variety of work has kept me interested and the fast pace environment means there is never a dull moment.
I have been made to feel like an integral part of my team, I haven't been treated as a student, but as a team member which means a lot to me.
Whenever I have needed help from anyone on my team or the wider department, my colleagues have been there to support and advise me.
I was almost always busy, but rarely felt overloaded, and if I ever have my team and manager have helped me to manage my team and have spread the workload across the team when necessary.
A surprisingly large amount. I have been trusted with my own projects as well as delivering vital results for the team, I have enjoyed this greatly.
I believe the training I received was second to none, from presentation skills to networking and CV writing, everything has been useful and the placement team have listened to what skills we want to develop and implemented training for them. In terms of degree relevance I have been able to use and develop the majority of the skills relevant to my course.
The Company
Professional, but relaxed and good humoured at the same time. I have felt a real sense of comradery and an all in it together attitude in the office which has allowed me to thrive.
Incredibly well run scheme, the placement team have always been on hand when needed, but haven't tried to spoon feed us or constantly check on us, which has been really helpful.
BAT is a company that firmly believes in talent & career development. They invest a lot in their employees and always offer courses/training to help them develop.

BAT are always on the look out for ambitious and talented people, and they always look at taking on previous placement students, so the future employment prospects look strong.
The Culture
Really good social scene, the students often socialise with each other outside of work, and other colleagues often host socials for sporting events, days out and nights out.
About what is expected on the south coast, affordable and fun, but with a wide range of places to suit all tastes.
The nightlife was good, a wide range of clubs and bars, with everything from underground music to cheesy pop covered, there is something for everyone.
the sports and socials club at work arrange everything from football tournaments to a company choir, as well as regular family days and other socials.
