The Role
I really enjoyed my time at Intel. I had a great team and working environment and my own responsibilities.
I was a valued member of the team, with my own responsibilities, decision making and equal input.
Intel has a various support structures in place. Regular meeting with your manager, an on the job coach/ buddy for, support from graduates and a handover period in which you are trained by your previous intern.
Busy at the beginning when getting used to the job but all very manageable. Over the time i had the opportunity to get involved in more things and take on more responsibilities but my manager made sure the workload was fine with me. How busy it was also depends on the business cycle throughout the quarter.
I had equal responsibilities to other full-time employees and opportunities to take on more whenever I wanted to.
I overall developed valuable skills for future jobs and my final year. Mainly soft skills that will support my studies and that I can apply in any other business.
The Company
Good atmosphere. Casual, flexible and positive.
There is good structure from handover from the old interns to the end of placement evaluation process with regular meetings to make sure you enjoy your placement.
There are opportunities to get exposure to other areas over the business, do training and more but it is up to you to go and do these. Your manager will support you with this.

Every year interns are hired back into the company so there is a good chance that you have the opportunity if you perform well over the year. The roles being hired back into are however limited to a few positions.
The Culture
There are loads of events organised by interns throughout the year. It ultimately depends on how involved you want to get and how many events the current intern group organises.
Swindon is pretty cheap in terms of rent and socialising.
Good bars and restaurants. Not too much for a night out.
You can get involved in sports and other activities.
