The Role
The internship was all in all a very good experience. The 10 weeks are intense as you get thrown right into the action, but that was honestly the best way to learn about the whole business. Most importantly, the people were all really nice and helpful, so you would never hesitate to ask a question to anyone, no matter how simple it might be.
I felt really valued by my colleagues as they always included me in important team activities. Whether it was team meetings or after work drinks - I was always invited to go with them. What was especially nice was that in my second rotation, everyone put time in their calendar to interrupt their work and sit down with me to explain what tehy are working on.
You will do two different rotations and tasks might vary by desk. In general, it is impossible, of course, to get bigger tasks (like really big projects) as you only spend four or five weeks with the team. But both my teams gave me meaningful tasks that were actually helpful to the team and also well thought trough. They always explained to me first what I would learn from a specific task and why it is good for me and the team.
If you only spend four or five weeks with a team, it is impossible, of course, to get full responsibility on something. But the teams made always sure that they would hand you tasks that were helpful to the day-to-day life of the team and time management was always my own responsibility.
