The Role
Working for Centrica has been incredibly insightful both on my stream and in the wider business. There is always support if you need help or want to learn more, and a really welcoming environment.
I feel very valued by my colleagues, both in terms of work and as a member of the team.
My manager and colleagues have supported me immensely with regular meetings to check how my internship is going. I can always ask for help or guidance.
Some days are quieter, but I can often find some extra learning to do.
I have been given a reasonable amount of responsibility for a project, although sometimes I do need to check things with my manager or colleagues.
I study a degree which requires a high level of independent research, and my time at Centrica will be invaluable for offering a different perspective on this when I complete my final year. The work tools and approaches I have learnt will also be incredibly useful in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere is very welcoming and I have never felt as though I wasn't part of the team, even from my first day. It's a really enjoyable environment to be in and I look forward to coming to work!
Some things have been less clearly organised, but overall there has been a reasonable amount of communication from the team.
I have been given invaluable training in work tools, learning courses, and the opportunity to visit other company offices as well as other companies with whom we work.

Coming back to work here would be the absolute ideal for me for a number of reasons, having already gained experience here.
The Culture
Placement students have accommodation together and so we have a really great opportunity to socialise after work.
Accommodation is included, which is a fantastic opportunity - the area is expensive, but overall not awful.
It's a very quiet area although there are some towns nearby with a bit more nightlife.
There were few within the company other than the subsidised gym and sometimes socials. However, in the local area there is a fair bit to do.
