    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The month long internship I have undertaken with Savills has been beyond beneficial, providing me with crucial insight and the opportunity to delve deeper into a previously unknown industry. By taking me along to sight visits and handing responsibility of project tasks to me as an intern has been fantastic.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Throughout my internship at Savills I can say, with great confidence, that I believe my time working alongside the team has been greatly valued. Not only have I been able to assist members of staff and put forward my opinions allowing me to express my thoughts, but also aiding their workload by undertaking previously unknown tasks of which I have been granted full responsibility for.

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • From the offset it was clear the support and guidance that the team at Savills provides is fantastic. As an intern you are provided with not only a graduate mentor who acts as your personal contact and advisor but also a direct line manager. Although these two staff members are there to directly assist your learning, the entire team is extremely open and approachable and a key asset worth using.

    3/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Given that I have recently graduated my 3 year degree in Geography the knowledge base acquired at Savills is very different but key to understanding a basic knowledge of the property and real estate industry. Despite the difference, with the support available I can confidently say the information received and skills of data analysis acquired at Savills will aid my future postgraduate studies to a large extent.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Upon joining the internship the structure was fantastic. From the first day it is clear the company is extremely well organised and takes professionalism to a high standard. The HR team play a key role in this process, particularly supporting the interns and delegating time alongside your busy day to day schedule to learn more about the company and industry via departmental talks as well as networking events providing you with the opportunity to meet and get to know your fellow colleagues to a greater extent.

    3/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • What was clear from working at Savills is that everyone is treated equally and once you arrive you are valued as a key asset to the team not simply someone who is there for a short duration and therefore not able to get involved. The standard of work is of course extremely high but the team allocation and support provided allows you to work in a calm environment whilst never making you feel separated.

    3/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • By providing the opportunity to gain a month long internship with Savills the company is directly focused on developing you into a key asset that can acquire knowledge quickly and work sufficiently to help your colleagues. As a result I feel to a large extent the company has successfully invested in me by teaching me the ways of the industry.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The internship has been very successful at furthering my current understanding of what a full time role as a building surveyor would be like. Prior to my time at the company I had already undertaken work experience in the industry but Savills has completely topped that by allowing me to further engage with tasks and show my abilities.

    3/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The internship has been very successful in portraying the company culture. Savills is a company with a key focus upon client care, putting the clients interests at heart within any project providing reliable information that can be trusted. Once the relationship between Savills and the client has ben formed, from my understanding it is likely these individuals and companies will likely return given the focus it provides.

    3/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Extremely valuable. Coming from a Geography background the content in the day to day life of a surveyor was largely unknown. Previous experience has aided this development but Savills has been very successful in furthering this knowledge allowing me to get involved and see that going forward, this is a career that I would like to persue.
