The Role
Very insightful experience. The internship provides you with a good understanding of the company. The HR team make a real effort to make sure you get the most out of your month with Savills., from arranging talks from a whole host of departments to arranging drinks for all the interns.
My colleagues made me feel very valued throughout my time. I was very conscious that it is quite hard to have someone come into their department for only one month, however they gave me interesting work to complete and allowed me to really get involved with the team.
The team I was assigned to provided me with a great deal of support. On your first day you are assigned a mentor, who is there to help deligate work to you and answer any questions you may have. However, it was not just my mentor that provided support, the rest of the department from the directors to another intern provided me with support.
Throughout my one month internship, I had a steady flow of work.
I was given a good amount of responsibility, that allowed me to feel as if I was valuable to the team/ However, I never felt overwhelmed with the responsibility as I always had guidance from my department.
I feel as if the internship provided me with invaluable skills for jobs in the future. Not only this, but it provided me with a good understanding of how to conduct myself at future assessment centres and what Savills is looking for.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was very good, and has attracted me to apply to Savills in the future. I really enjoyed the balance between working and socialising, whilst maintaining a professional atmosphere.
The internship was exceptionally well organised. The HR team did a very good job ensuring that we received a full overview of Savills as a business, through the weekly talks.
I was only with Savills for a month. However, I feel as if they did invest a lot of time and resources into me.
Company Parties/Events
Extremely appealing. I would really like to apply for a future grad job with them.
The Culture
The HR team made sure to do a social right at the beginning of the placement with the interns and one in the middle, this allowed us to really get to know all the interns. I think that this I was extremely well done and allowed me to form friendships with the interns.
I was based in the head office in London and not being from London it was very expensive.
Being in the heart of Oxford Circus there were lots of pubs and bars near the office
I didn't come across any, but I was only there for a month and kept very busy!
