About You
Overall, it was very good. I met loads of people, learnt so much that you couldn't out of a textbook and obtained a good understanding of the functioning of different departments within Savills.
Everyone was very nice, always inviting me to the social events.
Can't fault this, everyone was approachable when I had queries.
I'm going on to do my masters in real estate having never studied the subject before. This experience has definitely made me feel more confident going in to the masters and also greatly assisted in knowing what optional module pathway I would like to go down in my masters.
The Company
I was in two different teams. In my first team, it was structured ok but not great. Generally I would complete a task and then they would find me another one to do but there were sometimes when I really wasn't doing much. My second team went to a great effort to create a timetable for me and I was busy at every moment! I really appreciate that effort done by the team and it is definitely a 10/10 on their part.
Fun and friendly.
I have definitely learnt a lot of skills through the various exercises I have done. I haven't received any personal training or development but nor would I expect that in a four week internship. The company did put on regular skype departmental overviews to boost knowledge of different departments.
10/10 for my second team as they purposely structured my timetable to demonstrate what the main extent of their roles involve. Perhaps not so much in my first team but I still could hazard a good estimation.
Definitely as you experience the office culture as well as the social culture.
It's been very helpful.
Everything Else
Good wage.
Yes - they're very good at that. On top of just a company networking I also represented Savills at a start-ups network event which was extremely valuable.
Good fun! Can't beat a free bar.
Perhaps not so much.
Yes.
