    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I had a really good time at the Margaret Street office, as well as the work you are involved in, i think what made the experience enjoyable was the staff. From the HR staff who welcome you in to the director of your department, they're up for a good laugh and happy to go into detail in the work you're doing, above and beyond a normal 'work experience'.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt as valued as i wanted to be if that makes sense, it was up to me to see how much responsibility i wanted. I guess in itself that was the nice thing, i could make of it what i wanted and was given free rein as they trusted me which was really nice. You only learn by doing it, i feel, this placement let me do that.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I got a fair amount of guidance and support when i needed it. The work i carried out was pretty self explanatory, but it was the small details that mattered and that is what i picked up on when the support was given. Sometimes i felt that i could have done with more at times, but it was good to be thrown into the deep end.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • For me, i was put in an Agency team so i gained more commercial and inter personal skills than any technical/professional skills. This will be really valuable going forward as the property industry is one that requires good personal skills, such as dealing with clients in the right way. I have taken away a lot.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was really well structured. The HR team and your colleagues all have access to your calendar so can get you involved in events and viewings for example. Some were compulsory but other were not so you could duck into what ever you wanted to and whatever fitted around your work.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone was really friendly over the whole office, small things like going to the kitchen and in the lifts people were happy to have a chat and interested in what you're doing. I found that because everyone relies on different departments the office is big but most people know each other which creates a really good atmosphere.
