The Role
the placement itself was enjoyable, however the location of the project was not best suited to me
I felt valued as I was given responsibility and trusted to carry out the work
Was very helpful and was willing to explain everything I had questions about
Packages I had were quite on/off so varied regularly. although when my work load was lower I picked up some areas of others works
given the responsibly to run my own packages as well as have my work trusted in higher value works
Real life work experience will help a lot when putting my dissertation together. Also having an understanding of the processes will help put leaning into perspective and relevance
The Company
Office environment is friendly an welcoming. colleagues were always willing to chat
once the placement began it was pretty well ran however the notice of the location was too close to the start date to be able to sort accommodation etc.
was placed on various training courses whilst on the placement
can see a clear pathway through the company as well as the ability to work across sectors
The Culture
there were no other placement students here or Costain organised placement events
the location of the project was relatively cheap compared to the average
Cardiff was fairly close which had good night life although I did nit know many people in this arae
There were little activities to get involved in outside of work
