The Role
Very much enjoyed the experience - The company is very welcoming with a great culture that is clearly warmed to by everyone. The work was challenging but not overwhelming - giving you good exposure to client work and also getting a good understanding of the business as a whole. Overall good.
Colleagues were extremely thoughtful when getting you involved in new projects and always made themselves available to you for a chat or any help you might need - even when most people are very busy. No one looked down on you as inferior despite being one of the youngest/newest in the company.
My manager was excellent - she was always around for a chat whenever i had a question or query. On top of this I had weekly catch ups with both my manager and my "buddy" which proved extremely useful in providing me with support on problems and guidance within work.
For the most part i was busy throughout the internship. There were a few days when there wasn't too much for interns to do, however you control how busy you are by either getting yourself involved in the opportunities on offer or deciding to sit back. It is down to how much you want to get involved in.
I was given lots of responsibility right from the start of the internship - supporting employees on real client work right from the off - my contribution can be seen in proposals etc. to clients, showing they have the confidence in you to provide good work and not be pushed to the side.
The experience has developed many skills both from a technical side and also a people side, as having to work collaboratively in teams and meeting with clients while also working on solutions and technical problems for the clients will prove invaluable for the future, as these are skills that can be transferred into any workplace.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is quite calm, there is a hot-desking policy meaning you move around each day which is nice as you get to sit next to a variety of people. There was not too much joking around in the office, as it was a big floor and so people could get easily distracted.
The internship was well organised and thought out, we had a informative induction and then when we started in our respected offices everyone knew that we were coming and all the relevant people were assigned to you and everything flowed smoothly. In terms of work there was no set organisation for what you did week by week.

The Culture
There are lots of drinks events held for various events which were extremely good fun as it meant you could get to know the colleagues outside of a formal work environment. I also played for the company football team weekly which was good fun, there are also lots of other sports/clubs the company holds.
Cost of living is very high in the London office, canteen is also not too cheap. However this is made up for in a high salary which is another big bonus of the internship. Most bars/restaurants around the office are very expensive, but that is the cost of working in London.
