The Role
It was very insightful yet fun. I had built very good rapport with both project teams I was on, in both a personal and professional level.
Compared to others, I was given quite a bit of hands on experience on actively contributing to client deliverables. The team trusted my quality of work and was very patient to explain any ambiguity.
Everyone on the team was so open to taking time out to explain technical concepts / the project background to me, even when they were very busy.
I was given a lot of responsibilities ranging across different aspects of the project - from project management to vendor selection and preparing decks for pitches. Very authentic experience.
As mentioned earlier, despite being an intern I was given relatively active contribution in both projects which was great.
The skills would be very useful and transferable in whatever career I pursue - whether in quantitative numerical analysis or qualitative presentation skills.
The Company
I was mostly at client site, but regardless, the EY teams were very friendly and wonderful. It made for a very enjoyable experience.
It was very structured and clearly the summer internship team knew what they were doing, were very responsive and open to feedback.
I can tell EY invests highly in its people and people are its greatest assets - and this really shows in the attitude of its employees and the various avenues put in place to encourage greater teamwork/a healthy wellbeing.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. The people have been a key part of this internship, and are good at what they do, and those make for great reasons to come back.
The Culture
There were many social events to encourage interaction but I believe more events could be organized to bring together interns from the different offices, especially if we’re at client site.
It was affordable given the internship pay - just enough for meal deals and breakfast.
I worked in both the city and canary wharf and both had very good atmospheres for after work events. REallt facilitated the bonding.
Yes, definitely there were many events during lunch and dinner that made it great for getting to know your colleagues and peers better.
