The Role
It was great but it was only 6 weeks which felt too short at the end. The time flew by and I didn’t have time to get a view of other departments as much as I would’ve liked.
The team I worked with treated me like a normal member of the team and gave me real and worthwhile work to do. I went to two socials with my team which were really fun and made me feel like a real member.
They advised us and supported us throughout the internship and we were checked in on regularly to ensure everything was running smoothly.
I was busy the majority of the time as my team was very busy, however I know other interns weren’t as lucky and were waiting for work and seeking it all the time.
I was responsible for the completion of lots of work that was vital to the team. I was doing work a graduate would do so it was valuable work that meant my contribution was valuable.
It won’t assist much in my degree but in the future and going into the working world the experience I gained will give me a head start at getting settled in and finding my footing.
The Company
Everyone in the office got on really well and everyone felt like genuine friends. The socials helped with this as it meant everyone saw each other in a chill environment where work wasn’t involved.
It was very structured and organized. It’s a long running internship so they have the structure to a t. This meant it was easier to get the most out of the internship.
We were given lots of opportunities to learn and develop skills alongside our work. My team helped me get up to working level my spending time explaining everything.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
If I am offered a graduate position, EY would be top of my list. The department I was in wasn’t for me but the company won me over.
The Culture
The interns socialized regularly and we all made great friends. We also got to mix with people above us due to the socials.
I was living in London and had to rent. It was very expensive.
The nightlife was okay but we didn’t go out clubbing much instead we’d go for drinks around Canary Wharf.
I didn’t engage in trying to do this so I wouldn’t actually know.
