The Role
The Summer Internship Programme provides a great insight into what work is like within EY. The range of work and the ability to take ownership of aspects of a project made it a very engaging and interesting place to have a placement. The people within EY made the experience extremely engaging and informative, with the relaxed but productive nature of the firm very easy to settle in to.
All colleagues, buddies and counsellors within EY were extremely helpful in helping me to settle into the work environment. Regular communication with people allowed me to make the most of my experience and help widen my network and range of opportunities. Connections made through the support network made the working culture easy to integrate into, especially within the first couple of weeks.
At times, especially at the start of the internship I was given lots to do to make sure that I was involved with as many areas of the project as I could. However, towards the end of the internship I was given less work and had times when I wasn’t busy at all.
The ability to learn and develop soft skills was one of the biggest aspects of the internship. The recommended learnings and opportunities to develop skills allowed me to learn project specific, personal development and soft skills throughout the entire six week programme. Skills were also developed through working with others on my team, as well as through online learning courses.
The Company
The office had a relaxed and friendly nature, allowing for high levels of productivity, collaboration and innovation. I was quickly integrated into the team and found working with them very easy. The friendly nature of most people within EY is a real positive with people always happy to help and guide you to be able to learn during the internship.
I felt that from the inductions right through to the end, the events were run and organised very well. Upon entering the office, I was given a project team straight away allowing me to make the most of my short time at EY. Opportunities to experience more teams or projects was limited however but Ifeel the overall experience was wide ranging.

Company Parties/Events
The ACP graduate programme following the internship and university is well regarded and lots of information about the possibilities that you can get throughout the programme. The ability to progress and develop skills and abilities within EY are a big draw, with accreditation integrated with the training of each service line.
