The Role
Overall I enjoyed the experience and it allowed me to properly see into the company and what working there is like. There were other interns also on it so it’s nice not being the only one and therefore the social side is also good fun. The team I was placed in was also very good.
I had lots of questions to ask but never felt like I was being an annoyance by asking them. They were all very helpful and I was being given proper work to complete therefore felt like I was properly contributing to the team. This overall made the experience more enjoyable.
I worked closely with my seniors and managers for a period as well as shadowing a partner. They were all very accommodating and answered any questions at any time. They were always there to help out if I needed it without being too overlooking. It was also interesting seeing what work they get to do and attending meetings with the partner.
Some days I had more work than others. As I was placed in audit and the internship covered the summer months when audit is less busy there was less work to be done however I was given responsibility in the task and got to enjoy completing a whole audit of the smaller entities from start to finish.
We were given full tasks to do and complete and had the chance to ask questions along the way. We then signed it off as having completed that section and then it was reviewed and we were left comments which we also then could work on to improve and finish the work.
It definitely gave me skills that would help me for life but not so much for uni life and my degree. Arriving on time every day and learning the work life balance as well as making friends with the team are skills that I will continue to use. It also taught me about working in the city and the lifestyle that comes with that.
The Company
The atmosphere was always positive and the team were always friendly. I never felt like there was no one I could ask for help which was nice. The atmosphere always encouraged work and made me feel comfortable. It was also more social than I thought an office would be which made it more enjoyable.
It was very organised and there were quite a few socials planned for the interns so that we could get to know each other to make the experience more enjoyable. It seemed well planned within teams and there was lots for me to do if I did not have as much work to do one day.
I was taught how to complete all the tasks that needed completing and by the end was a lot more confidence in completing the work. It was good because instead of only giving us easy work they gave us harder stuff and spent time teaching us how to do it.

Working from home
Their grad programme sounds good as it also involves college and getting a qualification at the end of it therefore I think that this is a good offer. However there is not flexibility to switch from the service line you complete the internship in to a different one for the grad offer.
The Culture
Yes there were lots of opportunities to meet during the first couple of weeks therefore we could make friends and then after work we often went for a drink or to meet up with each other. This helped with the atmosphere in the office and made it more fun overall.
It was very expensive as we were in central London and therefore all the bars are highly priced. Train tickets are also very expensive however there is always lots going on wherever in London. £10 drinks are not good however going out for team drinks often got expensed so that was good.
It was good lots of bars however very expensive considering everyone is a student. But to be expected in central London.
Whilst we did meet up with the interns there weren’t loads of opportunities after the first couple weeks
