The Role
I’m very thankful that EY has given me the opportunity to complete this internship programme in the Technology Risk Advisory division. I was very fortunate to be able to work almost all of the areas within Technology Risk during the 6 weeks and get a feel of what the work environment is like. Also have great work life balance which lots of socials and drinks!
The moment I’m in the office, I felt I’m being treated as an employee, not as an intern. My team took me to client sites, and got me to work with actual projects, making real life changes. I was also able to work shadow partners and directors, having in depth conversations with them really helped to get to know the business and the team well!
With all the teams I worked with, the people are extremely patient with me despite I ask them questions on the tasks I’m given almost every 10 minutes! I was given an extremely difficult tasks for me, but I was happy to be able to leverage the talents and the skills of the team, despite their busy schedules!
I was busy as I had several engagements going on, however, I was also able to balance this with the social life. I also felt very proud of myself after finishing all engagements assigned to me.
As an intern, you wouldn’t get huge amount of responsibility. As long as you complete the task then you are fine.
All the skills I gained during this internship will definitely be useful in my degrees and future work, thank you EY!
The Company
Great atmosphere, the area was very chilled and relaxed. They have a flexible work environment meaning you can work from home or work at flexible hours.
I was happy to hear back from EY the next day after my Assessment Centre. They then very quickly set up a WhatsApp group for the team I will be joining. Every time was quick and efficient for me, positive experiences!
I was able to download lots of analytic tools and learn how to use them. I was able to leverage the skills of current analytics employees, getting them to teach me about the ways they’ll approach a piece of project.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
They invest in their people. You get to take the ACA exams when you join, also get a choice after taking your first set of exams to opt out of you find it too challenging.
The Culture
I enjoyed working with other interns, we gathered together and planned an team social organised by us for the team. It was the best night ever and definitely a highlight of this internship
It was very expensive but there’s good bar taps and also employees are willing to pay for you.
The best socials I’ve ever had, extremely high bar taps and networking opportunities.
Organising socials and charity fundraising events. Also did a CSR day on the second day of the internship! Definitely it is beyond work and profit to build a better working world!
