The Role
I very much enjoy my time at EY. The people were all very friendly and helpful, I got the impression that they were always trying to make our experiences become more valuable. The work was pretty interesting as well and we got exposed to very important and practical tasks, the tasks change every week so it was not boring.
All my colleagues were very lovely, all the other interns are very nice and easy to get along with. The seniors always tried to answer my our questions as thoroughly as possible, and they were always willing to spend time to chat with us about EY or to give us career advice.
My counsellor was very nice and he offered me great advice and great help throughout the internship. In general, I would say that the support system at EY is good, especially as each intern had a buddy to help them get familiar to the working environment and the other seniors.
I was kept very busy and I love that. I have never had to have a late evening and in general I think the seniors didn’t want the interns to get to exhausted. Summer is not the super busy season but it was busy enough so that I always have something to do.
In the first two weeks not much, but then I was given very important tasks and some of them were on pretty tight deadline. Therefore I felt that I was very valued by the team and I was able to learn many new things and contribute to the team with my knowledge.
It was very interesting as it was pretty different from the other internships I have done. I think the internship really helped me in developing my interpersonal skills, and also the skills to be proactive and how to look for information when necessary. For me I think those are quite helpful skills not just for mu degree but for my career in general.
The Company
The atmosphere was quite nice and everyone was very friendly. People always tried to be as helpful as possible and no questions were treated as stupid questions. There was a little social thing every week as well which is a good chance to get to know more about your colleagues.
It was pretty good, we got the induction in London and that was pretty interesting. Throughout the course of the internship, we got many people that we can contact to get help from, and we were assigned to different clients as well. The work flow was pretty well organized.
All the seniors were very willing to spendtime showing us how to do different tasks and getting us exposed to different tasks. We also got online training that we can do in our own time which were quite interesting. I also learnt a lot about the firm as a whole.
Company Parties/Events
I would love that, from what the seniors and my counsellor told me it seems like a good starting point for a career in pretty much everything. The training at the company looks quite good as the seniors got exposed to new exciting tasks in each year of the graduate scheme.
The Culture
Everyone was very nice and smart and even the people at the assessment center were very pleasant. There are many chances for people to get to know each other and exchange experiences. Sometimes we also had the opportunity to work quite closely with each other and that was pretty interesting.
It was pretty good for me considering the size of the city and the summer season events. In general the city is pretty nice and everyone in the office seems to love the city greatly.
It was exciting enough and people at the office went out once or twice a week depends on the workload so it was pretth nice.
We did a volunteering experience in our induction in London and that was very interesting as it was also a very good bonding experience. Aside from that I would say there were definitely opportunities to get involved in different activities as the company seem to be very active in CSR.
