The Role
I enjoyed the work I got. When reaching out to people I was involved in enxciting projects. I met clients and was involved in lots of meetings. The team were very helpful and I was able to ask lots of questions. They do not expect you to come in with previous knowledge only that you are keen to learn.
My team were very friendly and made the working environment enjoyable. My team valued my input and made me feel very much part of their team. All levels of seniority were involved and we easy to talk to and checked in woth you on how you were getting on. I felt like the team enjoyed the interns being there which made us more keen to get involved as we did not feel like a burden.
I was given a lot of support from my buddy and sipovisors in particular buy similarly all of the team. I had regular meetings with my councillor and he was able to help me set a strategy of how I wanted to approach my internship week by week. I liked the busy and councillor structure and I felt like it helped me.
The business of work varies daily. I had some really busy days and some quieter days however these days I used to Network and go for coffees with other teams and more senior staff. The internship is what you make of it so if you want to be involved in a project go and ask to be involved and you are kept busy.
I was given a high level of responsibility in which I was speaking to clients and also higher members of the team. I produced work and submitted to high members of the team. I was involved in doing lots of admin work but the exam explained to me the background and relevance of this work and I actually played a key part in this project. You always have responsibility in the work in do as this work will effect the whole teams work that is produced.
I developed a lot of skills. Both in terms of how to approach daily tasks however large all small which I will take back to my studies. Always complete work to your highest ability even if it takes longer for you than others. I learnt the importance of organisation and sometimes turning down work if it means it will reduce the quality of my other work due to my limited time. I will use this at university prioritising my work.
The Company
There was a nice chilled atmosphere in which you felt welcome and able to ask questions. I enjoyed coming into work. The team socialised regularly and you were encpuranged to work on the things you enjoyed. Overall this is very much a people company and this placed a large part in why I had such a good time.
The placement was well organised. Once in the office you very much spoke to the people you wanted to and got involved with work you wanted too. I think it’s nice there was not a set programme as you can work in a proper working atmosphere to get a feel of it.
EY invest a lot of time into their interns. Any individual in the office whether in your service line or not is more than happy to take questions or meet with you for a chat. You get real guidance from real people which you don’t get just researching jobs. This is a very supportive team.

I have really enjoyed my placement and should I get an offer I would be very keen to come back. This really is a lovely working environment and a plave you feel valued. People genially have your best interests at heart and I would recommend to anyone EY. It was an enjoyable experience working here.
The Culture
All the interns and employees are very sociable and down to earth. They place a strong emphasis of how important it is to have personal relationships in the sense of everyone feeling part of the team. You can choose whether or not to attend socials with no judgement but the offer is always there.
It was relatively cheap for me as I lived at home however some of the fellow interns rented uni accommodation which I know was rather expensive but their salary from the placement covered it and this is in central London. They came here for the experience not the salary so this was not a problem for them.
In central London the nightlife is fun however it is expensive. Socialising after work is more going to bars and the pub which suited me as I found just going to work every day quite tiring. I enjoyed working and socialising in central London and I know my peers also did.
There are lots of opportunities. Along with the socials there are sports teams that meet weekly and I have some friends that went to football weekly who really enjoyed it. Every opportunity is here you just have to reach out to show what you want to get involved with and speak to people.
