The Role
Enjoyed it very much. Worked with very amazing and intelligent people with a wealth of knowledge and experience (Bolton). Have helped me learn and understand the Banking industry more as well as the processes and procedures within a bank that must be completed, especially that of a secure bank such as Handelsbanken. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking to gain a deeper understanding of banking as well as develop their ability to provide the best customer service and even develop confidence/independence.
Treated me like a member of the team since my first day.
Given plenty support and guidance by peers. Aided me to learn as much as possible from the very first day and therefore be able to implement the guidance to work independently on tasks required.
Good balance. Must bare in mind that summer tends to be a less busy period.
Given good amounts of responsibility. After being taught how to do things, I then became responsible for those and making sure they were completed to the correct standard. This includes tasks such as account openings and within that the various charges and/or fees as well as cheque/payment verification calls to customers throughout the day, every day.
The skills I have developed have and will further significantly aid in my studies by helping me to understand the processes within banks. As I study Banking and Finance, prior to the internship programme, I only possessed theory knowledge learnt from my studies. Now I have physical experience and insight putting that theory to practice to take forward when continuing my studies. Training received can be taken forward to the future in the Banking industry as solid understanding of key tools used on a daily basis was provided.
The Company
Very lively atmosphere. Constantly colleagues working together or collaborating on challenging tasks, doing them in the best way possible that benefits the customer, in line with Handelsbankens' values.
Very well organised. My branch was ready to teach the knowledge I needed to know from the very first week and then encouraging me to
Very invested. Handelsbanken use this internship programme as an opportunity to recruit young and engaged individuals who are looking for opportunities to enter the industry and Bank, and willing to put the time and work in to succeed.
Very appealing.
The Culture
Kept in touch via facebook group chat. When we are all together, good vibes and everyone gets along very well together.
