The Role
I had a great team of people around me, very supportive and always willing to help.
My work / project was separate to the teams work and as such I did not feel I was making the biggest difference / contribution to my team.
Team meetings twice a week where my progress was checked along with a chance to ask any question I had and seek help on any of my work. Outside of these scheduled meetings my manager was always available, approachable and willing to help.
I was given two intern projects which took up the majority of my time with research and preparing for presentations. Although it is a lot of work, time is manageable and not too stressful.
I was given the opportunity to meet and present my ideas to senior stakeholders, contribute in meetings with senior stakeholders and help plan meetings for division leaders.
My ability to research and work effectively and then to take this research and consolidate it into effective learning materials.
The Company
Very friendly, welcoming business environment. Open plan desks allow even the most senior people to be approachable.
Very well structured. Full organisation between line managers, coaches, team leaders. As well as structured placement timeline with development opportunities throughout.
Constant training throughout. Development learning programmes well structured and built into the timeline of the internship programme.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
I hope to work with this organisation in the future because of the work environment and the culture.
The Culture
Always people around and going for a drink after work at the nice local pubs, as well as organised intern social evenings such as bowling at a bar.
Rent is reasonable and the cost of living is not too high.
Good nightlife as I lived close to student area and therefore clubs / bars are close by, however they're not always busy as a lot of students are not here over the summer.
Organised volunteering days as well as opportunities to take part in sports teams, graduate communities and regular nights out.
