    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement at Enterprise! It gave me a fantastic insight into how businesses works. It is really hands on job and allowed me to take ownership of areas of the business. My life skills and confidence throughout the year have massively improved, putting me in an amazing position to return to university and for future life.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt extremely valued by my colleagues. There is a strong family feel in the branch. My colleagues often socialised outside of work, which made me feel very valued by my colleagues. Managers are extremely good at praise, offering many bonuses to reward hard work. Also, management set up many work events to say thank you for working hard.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There is lots of support on the job. All managers are really open and supportive to anything going on inside and outside of work. A lot of guidance is given. Managers take you for monthly reviews to discuss your goals and ambitions. They also set you SMART targets to help develop areas of opportunity and improvement.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • We were extremely busy on a daily basis and every day was different. The job involves a lot of roles and multi tasking so even if you are not busy serving a customer, there are other marketing/finance/admin tasks that need doing. You are given a lot of responsibility from day 1, so no one employee is busier than another.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility on my placement. Every month, a rota is set up with different areas that each person will be in charge of. Also, throughout your placement you are asked yo complete two projects. The project involves taking an area of the business you feel you can improve and implementing change to help with that area.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My life skills and confidence throughout the year have massively improved, putting me in an amazing position to return to university and for future life. The job involves many roles. These include marketing, finance, sales and customer service. Your skills will improve in these areas, as well as general life skills.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a fantastic atmosphere in the office. Everybody get s on really well and my the end of the year, you will be great friends with all your colleagues. It is really like a mini family. I already know I will keep in contact with all my colleagues when I return to university.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was very well set up. I heard back about my application a few days after I applied. I was invited to go into head office a week later and got the job a few weeks after that. We were given 'road maps to success' and goals you have to achieve throughout your placement, which gave the internship a great structure.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested a lot of time in me. I went for monthly meetings with my branch manager where he set me SMART targets and areas to improve. I also had two meetings with my area manager about my career progress. Also, every two months we are sent for training in head office.

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • From the beginning of working at Enterprise, They make it really clear how you can process in the company and what you need to do so. For instance, they set up a 'road-map to success' for you to follow in your first year, which if completed should put you in a good position to be promoted to a management assistant.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Thee was a very good social scene. We all met up after work roughly once a week. Sometimes we went out for dinner and sometimes we went to the pub. There were not many clubs near by so clubbing only happened on a rare occasion.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home thoughout my year so I did not spend much on living. However, as my branch was just outside London, my colleagues that did rent spent a lot of money. Socialising was also not very cheap as all the pubs/restaurants nearby were rather expensive.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There was not a night life where I worked. We would entertain ourselves after work by going to the pub or out for dinner.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Many work events happened outside of work. At least once a month we had a branch lunch and roughly every other month we had a branch dinner. We also did activities outside of work such as bowling, go-karting and an event in the tower of london for the whole area.
