The Role
I have really enjoyed my internship here. I felt there was always something to do and my team really took an interest in my ideas and gave my real responsibility on the job.
My manager and buddy ensured that I had enough to do but also that I was not overwhelmed with work. The team gave me tasks that they would expect a full time analyst to do and the projects I was working on had real use.
Managers both in and out of my team were more than happy to spend time with me to walk me through different ideas and concepts or to offer support on different projects I was working on.
I felt my team didn't overload me with work but also made sure that I had something to work on. How busy I was varied throughout the internship, but at no point did I feel I had too much to cope with or absolutely nothing to do.
I was given the same responsibility as a new analyst would have in the team. Also, the projects I was working on had real uses and would be used by the team to make their day to day lives easier and more efficient
I learnt a lot about different financial products and how they are traded, I also learnt a lot of excel skills, including VBA, which will no doubt be useful in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere felt very relaxed and I felt I could approach anyone in the office if I had any questions or wanted any clarifications.
My manager organised a shadowing schedule were I sat with everyone in my team for a couple hours to get a more thorough understanding of what everyone does.
Throughout the internship HR organised numerous personal effectiveness sessions and insight sessions, which allowed us to expand our knowledge of the different businesses and how they interact with each other and also develop soft skills like public speaking.

Interns are offered places on the graduate scheme depending on their performance and I feel that internal mobility is a part of the firms culture.
The Culture
Intern class was relatively small, so found it very easy to get to know all the other interns.
The firm has numerous activities to get involved with outside of work, including sports clubs, film screenings, poker nights, triathalons etc.
