The Role
I have loved my time during HSBC, I have worked within the Multi Channel Operations within Mortgages and Wealth. I have felt supported, inspired and pushed out of my comfort zone to achieve things personally and professionally. I highly regard the values HSBC believe in. The Diversity and Inclusion is incredible and is something that resonates with me.
During my Internship I have not felt like an Intern but I have felt like a valued member of staff which is amazing for such a big company. My manager and the wider Team have been really supportive and I have always been pushed out my comfort zone to be tested and introduce results.
My manager and I have had weekly 1-2-1's every Thursday where we discussed my progress and how I can move forward. I was supported with my feedback and he took time to understand my goals both professionally and personally. My grad coach has been a life saver and has given me so much advice when I have needed it and felt low.
My workload was just right and I have never felt like I have nothing to do or were not valued. I enjoyed being challenged and reflecting back I have had the right amount of work to push me. I have been involved in more than just my main project which has been amazing.
I was in charge to deliver a full project with the support of my manager, I have never felt like I was on my own. I did find it difficult at times but all together I enjoyed the workload and responsibility. Alongside my manager we delivered a good amount of work.
I have taken away skills such as presenting and excel, which will be really useful for my Final year as mine has a lot of different assessments. I have also built my confidence which is something I didn't have a lot of coming into the Internship, I have really grown and understood that I am good enough and I can achieve.
The Company
The atmosphere was brilliant and was always a open culture, fully of friendly colleagues who are happy to help. We did team events which have been really helpful to get to know everyone. Sometimes the office was quiet but it was actually really good to concentrate!
I honestly believe everything has been organised so well, so much time and money has been invested in us which as an Intern I will forever be grateful for. I loved how well my personal achievements were honoured with a big regard to mental health. Overall i wouldn't have changed a thing about my Internship.
The company invested a lot in terms of Insight reports, to development days and Charity days. They have taken every part of me and found a way to develop and teach me new things. HSBC has by far gone above and beyond any other firm would which is amazing.

I am hoping to receive an offer for the Graduate Scheme so fingers crossed I get the offer to come back to the bank!. I am really excited at the prospect of moving through the bank and feel like the opportunities are endless in a global bank. the future is exciting.
The Culture
Yes, we always had fun with the wider Intern community and we went out to do fun event and i have made friends for life!.
I actually lived at home so this doesn't quite apply. I only had to pay for the train to work that was all.
I didn't actually attend any nightout's as a lot weren't arranged but if they were then I am sure that it would have been amazing.
So many different opportunities! I got involved in Mental Health workshop delivering and in Grad committees too. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in more than just my placement.
