The Role
I very much enjoyed my work placement as my team made me feel very welcome and I felt comfortable asking questions or for more work if needed. I think the structure of the programme was well organised with the Induction and Development Days.
I felt very valued by my colleagues as they made clear how I benefitted the team and made me feel like I would be missed on my last day. I felt they gave me tasks which added valued to the team.
My supervisors were very supportive and gave me consistent feedback. They made time to organise meetings with me and ensure I felt comfortable and welcomed into the team.
I was busy most of the time and if there were instances when I was not I felt I could ask my team for more work or another project to work on. Additionally, there was always an opportunity to shadow someone in the team.
I was given a sufficient amount of responsibility as I had the chance to interact with clients independently and carry out tasks that permanent members of the team would usually be trusted to complete.
I will use many of the skills in the future, in particular the presentation and teamwork skills. I also now have more confidence in asking questions or asking for more work to enhance my learning when necessary.
The Company
My team were very social and friendly. The atmosphere in my office was loud and conversational. We knew when not to disturb members of the team but the majority of the time people were open and welcoming.
The work was very well organised and my team had specific projects for me to work on.
The firm invested time and money for specific events which made us feel valued.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very appealing, would like a future job with the company.
The Culture
Interns met up regularly and organised social events which allowed us to get to know each other outside of work.
Expensive as working in Canary Wharf in central London but living at home.
Lots of options for Nightlife and different events on most days of the week.
There were sports clubs and film events held outside the office.
