The Role
My time at WillisTowersWatson was thoroughly enjoyable, and I was able to learn a substantial amounts about the insurance industry as well as working in a corporate environment.
Working with my manager was a really pleasurable experience, and I always felt as if my work and views were appreciated and into account.
My manager was always on hand to provide me with any help or advice that I needed, and this was really useful in providing me guidance considering I came into the internship knowing very little about what the business did.
I was a good amount of busy all days, so that I always had work to do, and this was important as it meant I enjoyed most days and wasn't at any stage bored.
The work that I did was used by my team and manager to help them with their own work, and this really gave me a positive sense of making an impact and being useful in my team.
While the work I did was not really related to my degree, it really opened my eyes to the world of data and I found this extremely useful in being more applicable, real life learning
The Company
The office atmosphere was really friendly and welcoming, and I very quickly became relaxed and comfortable, and was an overall good experience.
The internship was really well organized, there were constant talks and events for us interns to attend, and the work in my team was clearly planned out by my manager.
They really spent a lot of time educating and teaching us about the company and what it does, and they clearly wanted to ensure we were all given the support and training we needed to progress in our future careers.

People are clearly given the opportunities to develop and tailor their careers in the way they want, and there is a real feeling that people are progressed based on their talents.
The Culture
All the other interns were very friendly, and there was always social things to do at lunch and after work.
Cost of living, being in London, was of course very high, although there was substantial amount of socialising in the area around us as we were placed in the city office.
There are loads of pubs and bars in the area around us.
The opportunities tended to be rather self-driven, although they provided after work social events in the first week to help all of us interns get to know each other and so be willing to purposefully socialize with each other after work.
