    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed this internship we got to gain lots of knew skills by being placed in a team and having presentation skills training. Everyone at the company is really lovely and is very generous with their time. There was not a single day that I didn't have a smile on my face!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • When I produced work I felt that it was really appreciated. Some colleagues went the extra mile to make me feel valued by thanking me for me work with lunches etc or giving me more time and advice. I met with some very senior people who really value young talent.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • If I had a question I was supported and guided by my manager. I didn't get to spend too much one-on-one time with my manager as they're very busy but they were always there if I needed support. I preferred not being spoon fed as it allowed me to be independent.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very busy but I could always get my work done in the 9-5 working day. It was great as I wasn't bored or over worked and I was given the opportunity to showcase my abilities. I was given 5 full-on objectives and I know that wasn't the case for other interns. I was happy with my challenging workload.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had to run a couple of meetings and this was due to illness within my team. I was responsible for my own projects but also had the opportunity to shadow. I was given more responsibility as the internship went on, I didn't feel that I had been thrown in the deep end too often!!

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It has been good to work over the summer break and keep practicing skills such as report writing in a working environment. I will really be assisted by the presentation training we underwent in the internship and from the network I have developed. I feel like I am far more employable now.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Lots of banter and fun but everyone got their work done. The general atmosphere was that if you did your work to a high standard and got it done on time people are more than happy for you to have fun while you're doing it. The fun atmosphere was something I was most shocked by!

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organised with objectives set by your manager for you to complete, group projects, training sessions and a volunteering day. The structure was all set out before we started and it ran very smoothly. Sometimes we knew that things were going to happen but didn't have precise details till nearer the time.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Individuals invested a lot of their time in me by giving me advice and bringing me in on their projects which was greatly appreciated. The company invested through presentation training and bringing people together from around the company to give talks. The only skills based session we had was presentation training.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Future employment prospects are very appealing. The graduate scheme is very well organised and they invest a lot into their grads. I would be overjoyed if I was offered a grad scheme place. You are unsure whether you will get a placement or not as it is your managers who put forward your case.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The interns went out every Friday and there was a social organised at the beginning and the end of the internship for us. I went out multiple times with colleagues for promotion drinks and deal closing drinks. It's a very social company and they're more than happy to include you.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I did not live in the area but I know that it is very expensive. As is socialising but the pay for the internship offsets that. Getting to go out with people from the company is a great way to save on the cost of socialising!! London is expensive so it's no surprise.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of bars and pubs to go to within walking distance of the office. Lots of people go out after work so there is always a good atmosphere in the bars and pubs. I didn't try any nightclubs and don't know any within walking distance. Lots of options for going out though!

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We had an opportunity to go and do a volunteering day for one day on our internship. This was a great day. This was the only opportunity I had to get involved in activities outside of work but I know some boys got involved with a football team outside of work.
