The Role
The culture, environment is very pro-growth. You get given real work that is genuinely useful and will more than likely be used further on in a deal. I rarely found myself bored with nothing to do.
People showed a genuine interest in not only your career ambitions and personal interests. Once you showed you were able to do a piece of work well, more responsibility was given, which was a great learning experience.
Continuously. Supervisors are quite hands on and tend to provide continuous feedback that's not sugar coated - which is quite refreshing.
Most of the time quite busy. Yes there were moments that were quieter, but generally I always had a solid amount of work to do.
Much of the work that one completed was then passed onto someone more senior and was then used in a deal, whether it was a pitch, analytical data and more.
This internship helped me understand what I like and what I don't like. In terms of assisting my degree, I don't think it helped much, beyond however, I think it helped me find my niche.
The Company
Entertaining, fun, warm, very collective feeling atmosphere. The people are genuinely fun nice, outgoing and a blast to work with.
An external firm was hired for a weeks training before the start of the internship. There were continuous internal and external seminars to develop ourselves.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Top tier banks, with large aspirations in EMEA, huge balance sheet, massive footprint in Asia & the US, therefore overall, fantastic prospects.
The Culture
The interns regularly met up to do various activities during the weekdays and weekends. With work colleague, drinks would be organised on a regular basis.
Standard London prices, no surprises at all, not the most expensive but not the cheapest.
Lots of pubs and bars nearby adding for a great after work atmosphere.
Lots of fun events such as poker nights, CSR, sports clubs and more.
