The Role
I found the experience extremely interesting. The learning curve was steep, and I had a lot of exposure. The working environment was extremely enjoyable. I liked the atmosphere in the team and I had good times also with other interns. I build strong ties that I hope will endure also in the future.
Since the beginning of my internship, I was gradually given more and more responsibility. In particular, I built I worked close together with 2 analysts and an associate, and I really appreciated their attitude towards me, and the time dedicated for helping me learn some relevant aspects of the deal, or more in general, of the profession.
I was extremely helped throughout the whole internship by my buddy, and also by all other members of the team I had the opportunity to work with. In particular, at the beginning of the internship, I was given support to understand the key dynamics within the team, and to have a grasp of what the real work is.
The amount of work varied a lot during the period of my internship. At the beginning, I was extremely busy as I was staffed on several projects. This however, helped me learn at a quicker pace. Last weeks were more chill, even though I had to work for my internship project.
I was given a lot of responsibility throughout the whole internship experience. In addition, the range of responsibility assigned to me changed a lot in terms of task, and this made the job more interesting. In particular, I worked on modelling, preparing client materials, presentations and process aspects related to the deals I worked on.
I believe that it will all be extremely useful. Indeed, to combine theoretical and practical aspects is a key aspect for facilitating learning. So, I believe that this experience will be extremely value adding for my future studies. Indeed, I will have a more practical mindset to the theoretical concepts taught at university.
The Company
The atmosphere in general was extremely positive. Interns were welcomed positively and made part of the team since the beginning. I found the overall experience enriching also from this point of view. On top of that, I built strong relationships and connections that hopefully I will keep in the future.
The Human Resources team did an unbelievable job in trying to create a positive atmosphere among interns, and between interns and their respective teams. A lot of events were organized throughout the whole period, and helped us feel part of a community. This facilitated massively our on-boarding and made the experience much more enjoyable.
The company invested a lot of time in developing my abilities. In particular, I spent a relevant amount of time with other members of the team, who were always extremely keen to teach me new concepts. In addition, the training program was extremely useful to have the right technical skills to start the internship.

Future employment prospects are extremely appealing. In particular, the new 2-year analysts program is extremely appealing to me, as it allows me to learn a lot in a relatively short period of time. I hope to continue my career in this firm in the future, trying to learn every day something new.
The Culture
There was an extremely good social scene amongst colleagues. Whenever we had the occasion, we organized team building events and activities to further cement our relationships. With respect to this, the events organized by the Human Resources team were extremely helpful on creating this kind of atmosphere, which over the long term radically improved my overall experience.
Being in the heart of London, the cost of living was particularly high. Especially, the housing was extremely expensive. I believe that, in this respect, the company should provide subsidized housing, at least for summer interns, in order to facilitate people who cannot afford such living expenses. With this respect, partnerships with student dorms could be a valuable option.
Nightlife was extremely broad in the area I worked. Being located in the heart of London, it was plenty of opportunities to spend the night out. However, the costs sometimes were prohibitive. However, when nights out were planned carefully in advance, they became more affordable and even more enjoyable for everybody.
Yes, there were plenty of opportunities, ranging from sports, to charity, museums and so on. This helped me find the right worklife balance.
