The Role
The work place is very chilled out- does not have the same culture that the industry has. Socially very good as well- high conversion rate means less competitiveness
Colleagues give u genuine work and answer whatever questions you have- really do learn a lot
Manger was very good- Regular meetings to catch up on my progress
It fluctuates between being very busy and not having much to do- best thing to do is tell someone when you have nothing to do
I completed genuine work which genuinely contributed to the ongoing projects of my team
You get a genuinely industry-wide experience of the financial service industry, one which will help in future applications
The Company
Very chilled out atmosphere in the office- no pressure and can take breaks freely (look up the FCA's flexible working initiatives)
Good- had lunch and learns and social events organised, but do recommend being social with the other interns and being proactive and organising thigns
You do not get much formal training but can ask whenever you feel like you do not know something
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I would recommend anyone to do an internship or the grad scheme- its an amazing place to work with an amazing culture
The Culture
Yes- but one has to be proactive about it and organise things from the begininning
London is expensive in general but if you are mindful you can do things for cheap
As interns we went out almost every Friday- often went to places in Shoreditch
FCA have sports and social clubs which interns are free to get involved in
