The Role
It was highly enjoyable, I worked on a great projects and got experience of working with 2 different teams. Great office culture, loved my team and utilised my skills well. I learnt new technologies and time management skills.
I felt highly valued and respected by my colleagues: in fact, I felt completely at ease with them.
My manager was quite involved in my project, and I regularly demoed my work to him and received feedback from him.
I was fairly busy on all days. There was never a day when I felt I didn't have enough work.
I was given quite a lot of responsibility, although I was not given full responsibility/team projects as I was just an intern. I am quite happy though with the level of responsibility I had.
The technical, personal and professional skills I developed will really help me in my future degree studies (especially communication, technical and time management skills), and in my future career.
The Company
Great atmosphere. Supportive and warm. Not too stressful, everyone played hard and worked hard.
Had lots of intern specific activities and excellent induction day. Very well organised.
Had access to online training sessions, the induction was very informative. Had great talks by senior employees.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. Barclays have a great graduate program. I look forward to work there if I get the opportunity.
The Culture
We had a community day for interns, as well as a hackathon and a farewell event.
Quite low cost of living. The cost of socialising was quite low as well.
Not too many opportunities for nightlife, but there were a couple of good ones
There was a citizenship day and a hackathon for interns. Lots of speaker events.
