The Role
I got exceptional job satisfaction, support and enjoyment whilst on my placement mainly due to the support and direction I recieved
I felt like I was treated as an integral part of the team and my views and opinions were listened to seriously
Whilst I was given responsibility to manage my own work, I was supported and guided when I needed it.
Whilst I had enough work to keep me busy, I also had time to explore the work place and investigate it thoroughly as a future permanent career
I was given full responsibility for my project scope, planning, progression and result. I was given access to all resources I reasonably needed and could justify
My project management skills have been increased dramatically and I am effectively utilising them to produce a far better team result
The Company
Whilst the atmosphere was sometimes very quiet, it was generally because people were focused on doing there work as effectively as possible
The placement and support was excellent, the only negative was the length of time it took to confirm the placement.
I was not with the company long enough for any significant training etc
Subsidised Canteen
It's Shell, what else do I need to say!
The Culture
I lived with the other placement students and I developed some of the best friendships I have ever made
Chester is quite expensive for orth of England
Chester bars and resteraunts were exceptional but travel to Liverpool or Manchester was required for goof clubs
I was invited along to football with other colleagues and to the graduate engineer social nights
