The Role
It was a great experience where I felt like working on something with actual impact. My team was amazing and really suited my personality. I think HR does a great job in finding the best suited team for each person.
I received good feedback and felt like people cared about my project
A lot of support was given by the management and supervisors. The company also has a mentoring system, where everyone gets assigned to a mentor, who is usually a graduate in case you have any further questions or need help with something.
So I think that my team was a quite busy team in general. We were working on a lot of stuff with tough deadlines - however I know there are teams with a more relaxed environment in case you like working in a more chill environment.
I think I was a good amount of responsibility. Apart from developing something useful I had to make sure that everyone in my team knew how to use the tool I made.
I think the skills I gained over my summer internship are going to be a great help for my further academic studies.
The Company
The atmosphere was very good. Even though I am a person who likes working independently, people were always eager to give me advice or help whenever I needed it. We had regular 1-1 meetings with my manager, the HR and my mentor to ensure everything is going smoothly throughout my internship.
I think HR did a great job at matching people with the right teams according to their personality. My team and manager also made sure that I would get smoothly introduced to the workload - so I started with the basics and moved one quickly and got more and more responsibility as the weeks passed by and my work knowledge was getting better.
I think the company in general is investing a lot in younger talent and especially in tech talent which is something not everyone would expect from a financial services company. The have many many learning opportunities both for your area of interest and outside activities that might offer you a lot regarding your personal development.

It would be great working for this organization again and my team. Both JP Morgan & Chase and my team seemed to care a lot about me developing as an employee and a person - and I met a lot of people and friends who made my journey better during my internship.
The Culture
Yeah I met a lot of other interns and people from other teams who were eager to talk about their daily jobs and go into more depth about how they are affecting the organization - which is always interesting to hear. The company organizes lots of socials and events where you can meet new people and network.
I think Bournemouth is a pretty decent city to live in - not too expensive, not very cheap either. To be honest I have only lived in two cities so far in the UK and I haven't really compared costs of living, but I think the cost of living in Bournemouth is not high.
To be honest, I am a person who likes doing outside activities like travelling or sports instead of clubbing so I didn't really experience the nightlife in depth, but according to what I've heard from other people I think Bournemouth has many clubs and bars with a big student community. So you can easily have fun and meet new people.
Yeah both the company and bournemouth as a city are offering outside activities and societies, which can make your experience better. For example, there was one day which we called "Corporate Responsibility Day", where we basically went to an animal shelter and did some volunteering work for a non profit organization and it was really fun.
