The Role
Great introduction into JPM and great training. A good balance of support network created at different levels of the bank, from your team to buddies to senior mentors. There was a good balance of events, training and mingles. The other interns were also amazing, so it felt like HR and JPM had picked well, felt proud to be stood next to them.
Very much felt like I added value and was part of the team. I was able to deliver the ask and used the skills learnt at university to add value to the team. I felt that once I had proved myself, I started to receive more and more work from across the team.
Supportive and quick to respond. There is always someone to reach out to. Having two managers really helped since I was able to reach out to each of them for different kind of things and I was not effected when one of them was away from the office and seeing clients.
Always had something to do, and always had multiple bits of work going on throughout the internship. There was a good mixture of long and short time scaled projects, so there was always something to work on throughout the day. If the short term work load ran dry, the team were great and giving me more work when I asked.
It varied from the different industries, but I definitely was not running the show - I don’t think I knew enough to do taut.
I do not study economics or anything finance related so I doubt it will have a major impact on my degree itself. The skills will however be 100% infinitely useful and valuable for the rest of my career!! Not to mention, everyone is great and sitting down and explaining things.
The Company
There was a good balance of serious work and motivation to get things done and fun and laughs. I liked this balance and it made the experience both productive and enjoyable. I think this was more to do with my team specifically, and it is true that different teams have different atmospheres.
The internship itself was very well organised. Everything seemed to have its own place and everything was just perfect, especially at the beginning. I especially like how the awkward ‘first day at the desk’ was arranged with buddies taking interns to their teams. I also thing the variety of the topics covered in training was good. The first social was excellent, they rest were not so great.
There are a few sessions on things like branding and presentations training. The first week is filled with training. After that is sort of goes down, and it’s more about your teams and learning the job and then doing the job. I do not think there was much peronsal tensing and development beyond a session. on branding and presentations.

I loved my team and the organisation as a whole. I very much felt like a lot of money was invested in the internship program. The future opportunities for training and development make it a great organisation to work at. I would recommend it! It was also an enjoyable experience!
The Culture
I felt that amongst the interns in my program and the interns on my floor it was great! They were amazing and made the experience both really enjoyable and a lot less stressful. I do not feel that there was much interaction/much enjoyable and pleasant interaction from interns in different programs.
Pricey.
Great! Felt safe at all times since there seems to be a consistent police presence. Also the bars and restaurants and right next to the workplace so you do not have to travel far to have some fun and enjoy yourself. I really enjoyed not having to travel miles to relax.
There are socials and team sports and societies, although I did explore this a little, I did not explore it much. There did not seem to be anything intern specific, but to be honest I did not really have the time to explore into this aspect of J.P. Morgan a lot.
