The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed the internship, had a great time with the team and was given substantial work to do
Felt valued and a part of the team. Was treated well and had a very understanding and supportive manager
Given substantial support by manager, team always willing to help and guide me. Not spoon fed but still given enough help to help me succeed and complete tasks
Was given substantial work to do and very rarely sat and did nothing. If given nothing to do I would ask for work and would be given more than enough to do
Given substantial responsibility. Was allowed to speak to clients on the phone within a few days of starting
Will greatly help me in the future when I look to work within financial services. Training modules helped me to develop a wider understanding of the work I am completing and taught me a lot
The Company
Very fun team, always chatting but hard working. Had a good laugh from time to time. Friendly atmosphere and very welcoming from the outset
Not much structure as it is a fairly new internship scheme for the bank. Nonetheless I still had work to do and kept myself busy. Had a training day at Head office and a visit day and regular meetings with HR.
Was given the opportunity to attend head office for a training day and also for a visit day
Was told that there is the opportunity to come back for a secured summer internship next summer
The Culture
Was placed in a central Birmingham branch so there was a fair amount of social events organised by the interns ourselves such as dinners and drinks etc
Fairly affordable - dependent on where socialising took place
Central Birmingham so very good night life
