About You
Really enjoyable summer scheme. I was given the opportunity to go out and about and learn about the vast variation in the sector. Everyone was extremely helpful and welcoming.
I felt very valued. All the work given was explained in a wider context and was contributing to ongoing projects.
The support was brilliant. I had a mentor but most people in the office were friendly and willing to help. It created a really welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
The summer scheme has developed my communication skills and my ability to write detailed, directed reports which will be essential when writing a dissertation in the near future. The information on future career options has also been extremely useful.
The Company
The team I was assigned to were brilliant. There was always work to do and consideration into how it might help me in the future. I was never left with nothing to do. I was also given the opportunity to go out and about on site visits bringing the work I had done in the office more to life.
Being the only summer scheme student in my office I was slightly worried but everyone was really friendly and extremely helpful. There was an ease of communication between different teams which gave me the opportunity to learn and work with other departments and gain as much as possible from the scheme.
There were many training webinars that were really informative and a set of challenges to try including a presentation. This meant those outside the main London office can still access teaching and events occurring.
I think the summer scheme gave a good idea of what a full time role would entail. Talking to current graduates in the team allowed me to understand how training and events fit in with everyday working and the future challenges.
The webinars covered a wide range of sectors that Savills are involved in from planning to rural but they also showed the common themes running through them all.
This has been one of the most valuable experiences and has opened up my eyes to a future career path. The HR team were very helpful in explaining all possible future routes.
Everything Else
I was paid for the 4 weeks of work as part of the summer scheme.
There were a few opportunities to network however, being in a smaller branch made this more difficult.
The events were limited due to being in a smaller branch.
A few of these were mentioned including a future young professionals evening to bring individuals in an area together.
Definitely. It has really opened my eyes to a future career in property.
