The Role
I really enjoyed working on multiple projects and dealing with multiple stakeholders with different mindsets, goals, and priorities. Sales Enablement is a relatively new field, and requires being proactive, challenging yourself and a strong problem solving attitude. I enjoyed strengthening multitasking and improving my active listening capabilities by understanding salespeople needs.
I loved being part of the team and I felt part of sales enablement since day 1. I really feel the work I've done is valuable and helped the team become better at their role and more responsive to all the other functions in the organization, with a specific focus on the salespeople.
My manager supported me throughout the whole experience, giving some advice on what to do, and valuing my opinions during meetings. I felt I've learnt so much thanks to the precious advice my manager and my director gave me.
The role kept me busy but I still think I've got the right work-life balance.
I've been responsible of the content management and governance of Sales enablement platform we've launched in our organization. We really worked as one team, but each of us (including me) had lots of different responsibilities and everyone has always valued each others' support.
Adding such a dynamic work experience on top of my bachelor and master degree has been extremely important to put the theory to practice. Being constantly involved in a proactive team requires you to have a learning attitude and encourages you to acknowledge and improve some soft skills you have never thought you'd have.
The Company
Expedia has a great office atmosphere thanks to its culture. Everyone is available for a coffee break and willing to help you/support you. The culture makes it all, and makes you grow on a personal point of view as well.
The whole program has been extremely well-planned. I had a clear schedule of my duties and responsibilities since the very beginning, and in case of issues/doubts the team and the HR have always been able to support me and advise.
I think the company cares strive to let you become a better person, encouraging you to be more open-minded, willing to learn and proactive.
Expedia supports you in case you want to come back, and I feel there are plenty of opportunities in case you want to apply for future job positions within the company.
The Culture
I can definitely say we've set a cool atmosphere among interns, and I can call my colleagues friends , both the interns and my teammates.
It's very easy to find places to socialise in the area I've worked in, and I'd say the cost is as high as the average London standard.
There are plenty of restaurants/bars around the office!
