The Role
This internship
Being the last temporary arrival in the team did not hurt at all: the majority of the team has been very welcome and supporting when I had questions related to the company.
I was given a lot of support of guidance. First of all, I have been assigned a "buddy", a person in the team who would work close with me and to who I could ask questions and doubts. Then, also the other people in the team have welcomed my questions!
At the beginning I was very busy reading documentation and getting to know the company. Then I have been busy working on my personal project. Overall, I would say that in every moment there was something to do that I could do, and people in my team have been very supporting allowing me to take on tasks.
I did have the responsibility of carrying on my personal project, which did not effect at all the ecosystem. In fact, it was more of a feature to be implemented. Therefore, it was a responsibility tailored to my role as an intern.
This internship really uncovered lots of things I had little or no idea before, with regards to both technical and soft skills. This is stuff that is not taught at all in university, which you can find in companies instead because being updated on the latest features is what lets them carry on.
The Company
Great! I felt that pretty much everybody was very welcome and often up to a conversation, which means a lot in a working environment! Actually, it did not felt as a strict working environment at all!
It was organised well, I have had my own specific project that I have carried on.
A lot. They organised a lot of trainings about technical tools that we could have end up using with! Also, my teammates were fundamental to my personal and professional development!
