The Role
Very much, I am learning a lot and meeting the most knowledgable and kindest people. Everyone tries to make an experience here as best as it can be.
As I am yet to finish my internship, I hope there would be more situations to help my colleagues and be of great help. Nevertheless, so far every task I have taken/completed was appreciated by everyone in the team.
I had a chance to start my work experience in UK with the greatest people, my supervisors are getting straight to the point, clearly setting the objectives and methods they either expect to use or just recommend them. All aims were clearly stated and I was provided with all additional information, such as who would be interested in this work, what would be the most effective approach, who I can talk to to ask for more support, etc.
As I want to complete as many tasks as possible throughout my internship, I am rather staying busy, but this is the only form I like so that is absolutely fine with me. Additionally, I fell like I have quite big autonomy and for some parts of the tasks I can take more time if I need to.
Surprisingly a lot, which is great. Obviously, the main objectives, stakeholders, etc. information were stated in the very beginning, but when it comes to use of the tools or my form of working was up to me. What is great is that the tasks could be done individually, so I can just sit at my desk, listen to music and do the tasks at my own pace, at the same time having lots of people around me that are happy to help.
I graduated form my master degree and am not planning on further education so far, but I know that for my further role the things I have learned and still learning on my placement would be extremely valuable. It regards specifically some characteristics, such as ability to listen, getting straight to the point and being more humble, and approaching the tasks from also more business perspective. Additionally, any technical skills that I am learning of are priceless.
The Company
Everyone's so chill, happy to help, joking around and the great thing is that you can wear whatever makes you comfortable. The atmosphere makes you want to come back to work everyday, but at the same time everyone had this internal need of working and achieving the group's goals. Ultimately, that is the best combination one can find at work.
It is still yet to be finished but everything was extremely well organised and prepared, my manager made a Trello board with all the things I need to do before I will start working and it was very helpful.
I feel that people that are coming to the company and went through the whole recreation process, can automatically feel how valuable they are for the team. They are given lots of various tasks, can use all the platforms that they would not be able to use on their own, have an opportunity to attend different trainings, etc.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
A lot, I have not met the person so far that would not like to stay within a company after the internship and I am one of them.
The Culture
I joined later as an intern and I did not have a chance to participate in all different meetings at which other interns met. Nevertheless, everyone tried to make this experience really nice for new people and organisations of various workshops did a great job.
It was really ok, I am living close to the company too so the area was perfectly located.
Absolutely, there is a group where people selling their tickets for different events, people from the company inviting you for them too, etc.
