About You
The Company
DLA Piper, invested a lot in providing training and development activities during the insight scheme. We were graced by some brilliant speaker and had a lecture delivered by Simon Levine, the Co-Global CEO and Managing Partner, on what it’s like having a full time role and working for a global business law firm like DLA Piper.
During the insight programme, we had various lectures on the business of the firm, its clients, and their services and operations. The whole scheme embodied what it is like to work for DLA Piper, and the support and development offered by the firm to assist you achieve your career goals.
The three weeks insight programme, provided a good understanding of DLA Piper culture. The have an imbedded culture of creating a supportive, collaborative, bold and, innovative environment. These are reflected in the firm’s policies, business, and workplace everyday life.
The insight scheme, helped me in deciding to pursue a career as a business lawyer. DLA Piper, provides the right platform and support in developing to be a successful business lawyer.
Everything Else
DLA Piper, ensures that we were all reimbursed for expenses we incurred and was paid for the three weeks we were at the firm. They provided accommodation and meal allowance for those that were not based in London, and we had lunch allowance as well.
Throughout the insight scheme, there were several opportunities to network with other employees of the company. We also had opportunities to work closely with employees of the firm for two weeks. This provided a great insight into the daily work life of a DLA Piper employee.
The network and social events were brilliant! We met with partners, associates and current trainees of the firm. We had various lunch and dinners with Senior Partners of the firm, and drinks with associates and trainees.
DLA Piper, told us about the various activities and pro-bono activities that employees can get involved with outside of work, and are strongly encouraged to. During our insight scheme, we were encouraged to get involve with their pro-bono activities at our spare time.
I would strongly recommend DLA Piper insight programme to future applicants. The experience and skills you gain during your time there, is invaluable.
