The Role
It was really enjoyable and stimulating. every day there was a new challenge and an opportunity to learn. I was never bored and I had plenty of support from industry professionals. I was given exposure to working with both third party and senior managers and given the respect of a permanent employee.
My questions were always answered and my thoughts were considered. During meetings I never hesitated to give suggestions. I was always part of the team. There was some amount of ‘just intern’ Work but on the whole, I felt like I was given equal responsibilities and opportunities. It was a rewarding experience.
I had the opportunity to speak to several high ranking employees when I required their specific expertises. There was a lot of chance for education and I was never ‘thrown in the deep’ for any particular task.
The tasks related to my job in general were very unpredictable as some days would be busier than others. I was able to achieve a balance but due to working with different time zones and having specific international deadlines there were some weeks that were significantly longer and more demanding compared to other.
I was fortunate enough to be able to work directly with third party brokers and suppliers as well as certain government entities. I was also in charge of my own reports having written and completed most of the processes myself. On most days I didn’t even feel like I was just an intern!
I have learned how to cope under pressure with extreme deadlines as well as prioritisation and time management. It is impossible not to train yourself to rank your duties when you have only a few days to complete several tasks. It is an essential experience in aiding and changing my attitude towards studies going forward.
The Company
It was very casual with a friendly and warm atmosphere. I never felt like a bother whenever I needed to ask a question or locate a certain resource.
In general I felt like there were clear expectations of me but as I joined during a time of change, it was a bit difficult to have specifics and a clear goal for where my job and role was headed. I am fortunate enough to have been given extra duties beyond my job scope but I wish there had been clearer goals.
I had the chance to go on a few international business trips and attend senior level meetings and seminars. I was also given individual trainings from employees based in other countries, with several face to face opportunities which was exceptionally gratifying. I felt incredibly fortunate to have such a high level of engagement.

I am more than keen to return to Intel as the company ethics are incredibly welcoming. The company is growing and remains a market leader and I would be extremely grateful to be a part of their continued growth. Being part of the Legal group gave me an alternative insight into the company and it was an experience I would not swap for anything else.
The Culture
Yes there was a specific social committee for the interns who often worked with local venues to create events and parties outside of work.
I was based in Swindon which I think has average / moderate pricing. There is a variety of restaurants and shops which are not extravagantly priced - especially the local restaurants. A good meal usually costs between 20-25£ and there are several home delivery options with minimal delivery charges (Max £3).
Swindon is fairly small so there is a limited number of night time excursions. Additionally, not catering to any student population means night clubs are at a minimum however Bath is only 30 minutes on the train and offers late night returns. It is also easy to go to London and reading.
Yes I am aware of local sports clubs and craft societies. There are many community centres that cater to everyone.
