The Role
Enjoyed it a great deal. Met some great interns who are also on placement. Company did lots of induction activities and there were lots of opportunities to learn about different areas of the company and go on site tours. It is recommended to shadow different departments to get a broad insight.
Was given proper tasks that other engineers were working on. Never felt like my work was meaningless and lacked value.
Had meetings weekly with my manager to review my progress.
Always had work to do but some days were slower than others.
Had a role within my team but there was not pressure to be perfect.
I learnt a lot on the job as most of the tasks were knew to me. Definitely developed skills that cannot be taught at university and that make me more prepared for any job environment.
The Company
Relaxed productive environment. Never felt watch or pressured from other colleagues
Lots of introductory and induction activities took place to ease us into the company.
There were opportunities to take on training courses and develop certain skills.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
They offer a good grad scheme options across the company.
The Culture
Lots of interns to socialise with, be it sports, going out and over lunch breaks.
Decently priced, not as high as London but reasonable prices.
If you have been out in the major cities clubbing you may be disappointed. However, if you are from a smaller town then the nightlife is decent.
Activities out there do exist but perhaps not properly advertised
